Unitree Robot Delivery Across the CIS — Customs, Timing, Cost

In short: Alashed (Unitree.kz) ships Unitree robots from Almaty to all CIS countries. Typical timing — 5-21 days depending on country and customs. Baseline scheme: contract + invoice + certificate of origin + customs declaration for each country. For most CIS countries the robot is imported as standard tech equipment with standard duty rates and VAT. Customs can be handled by the client (via their broker) or by Alashed as agent.

Country and timing map

Documents per country

Base pack is the same: contract, invoice, packing list, certificate of origin (CE / FCC for Unitree original), robot technical passport, cargo insurance. Additionally: for state procurement — national-standard compliance certificate (2-6 weeks to issue).

Standard routes

Central Asia (Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan)

Road transport via Shymkent → border. Fastest, convenient for robots. Time: 3-10 days. Used for all platform types — from Go2 to B2.

Caucasus (Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia)

Two options: 1) Air from Almaty — faster, more expensive, ~5-7 days; 2) Via Caspian + road — cheaper, ~10-14 days. For large shipments (multiple robots) — sea freight.

Moldova and Eastern Europe

Via Georgia by road, or via Russia + Belarus by road. Time: 14-21 days. Accounts for current political and sanctions conditions — discussed individually.

Customs: who and how

Option 1: client via their broker

Standard for large corporate clients and state organizations. Contract goes on FCA Almaty or CIF [city] terms — client is responsible for customs. Pros: cost control, use of in-house brokers. Cons: more work on the client side.

Option 2: Alashed as agent (DDP)

Alashed organizes turnkey delivery — DDP (Delivered Duty Paid). All duties and taxes are included in the final price. Pros: fixed amount, no surprises. Cons: less transparency on cost structure.

What usually deviates from plan

• Customs delay — usually 1-3 extra days on the first shipment to a new country.
• Additional local regulator requirements — e.g., a separate certificate for a specific sensor type.
• Destination-country holidays — they land mid-delivery and add 2-5 days.
• Seasonal weather constraints — mountain passes can close for 1-2 days in winter.
• Currency control — some CIS countries require additional bank paperwork for large payments (1-2 weeks).

How to minimize delivery risk

• Add 20-30% to the standard time on first delivery — that's normal for a new route.
• Use Alashed as agent on first delivery, then switch to your own broker.
• Insure the cargo for full value + lost profit from delay.
• Agree the operational start date with buffer — not "robot must work from the 1st" but "from the 5-10th".
• Prepare infrastructure in advance (charging, Wi-Fi, operator training) — to not lose time after delivery.
